After completing his residency in 2011, and fellowships in 2012 and 2013, Haroon Hameed, MD, of Washington, DC, began his career in medicine. In 2021, Haroon Hameed, MD, founded Duality, LLC, a medical software company, which was later incorporated as The Duality Companies, Inc.

In 2011-2012, Dr. Haroon Hameed was a fellow in pain medicine for the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 2012-2013, he received an additional fellowship in Endoscopic and Arthroscopic Spine Interventions at Mid Atlantic Pain and Spine Physicians. Dr. Hameed also served as a Medical Director of Interventional Pain Management for Kure Pain Management and later as a Medical Director at Clearway Pain Solutions.

Dr. Haroon Hameed used his expertise in medicine and computer science to create Duality, a cloud-based B2B SaaS application that integrates with commonly used electronic medical software programs such as Athena Health. As CEO, he wrote algorithms for use in pain management and ran the software development team as Product Owner and Scrum Master. In addition to running his software development firm, he is still with Clearway Pain Solutions as their Director of Regenerative Medicine.

His experience in research culminated in numerous publications in notable peer-reviewed journals. He has also contributed numerous chapters to books on pain management and presented on the related topics. In addition to his scholarly work, he holds memberships in several medical professional societies.
